Instructions

Apple Prep

  • Warm your frying pan to medium temp
  • Core and slice apples into about 1/4 inch size long and thin. Feel free to leave skin or remove it as desired
  • Add 1 tbsp butter to warm pan and move it around the bottom until it's mostly covered. Color should be light brown but DON'T Burn it!!
  • Add your apples and sprinkle 1tbsp of white sugar around them before stirring.
  • Keep them moving until they are all warm and you start to smell warm apples. Look for brown edges. If they are burning, the temp is too hot. Don't burn them.
  • Remove warm apples and let them cool to room temp

Heat Up the Oil - 350℉

  • This is a good time to heat up the oil. Pour your oil into the heavy bottom pot and heat it up to a consistent 350℉. Use a thermometer later to keep the temp correct while frying.

Dry Ingredients

  • Using your large mixing bowl mix in all dry ingredients together and whisk till blended

Wet Ingredients

  • Using your medium mixing bowl, whisk your egg then mix in 2 tbsp of white sugar until all sugar is mixed in.
  • Add 1/2 cup applesauce along with milk and butter.
  • Mix in apples with wet ingredients until they are smothered

Bringing it all together

  • Pour your wet ingredients into your dry and mix together until they are completely combine. Don't be afraid to mash everything together with your mixing tool. I like to use a silicone spatula not a whisk. The mixture should be sticky.

Frying the fritters

  • Set up your plate with the paper towels somewhere close to the oil pot to place fritters on after you fry them
  • Check the temp. Try to stay close to 350℉ during the process
  • Using your mixing tool, scoop out a small amount of the mixture about half the size of your palm and drop directly into oil.
  • Let it cook for a few (2-4) minutes until you see golden brown around the edges then flip using your spoon with holes and cook for another few minutes.
  • Remove fritter letting excess oil drip back before you place on plate.
  • Once they are all fried up, move them immediately to cooling rack

Glaze

  • Using your medium mixing bowl, pour in powdered sugar, vanilla extract and mix until you have a syrup like texture. If it's too light add more powdered sugar, if it's too thick add more milk. Don't over do the milk.
  • Dip fritters into glaze or drizzle over the top and let dry.
