Homemade Bay Rum Aftershave
Ingredients:
- Enough dried bay leaves to fill a pint jar ¾ full
- 2½–3 teaspoons allspice
- 3 teaspoons whole cloves
- 1½ cups dark rum (or your favorite brand)
Instructions
- Prep the Jar: Start with a clean pint-size glass jar. Add your dried bay leaves until the jar is about ¾ full.
- Add the Spices: Sprinkle in the allspice and cloves — these give your aftershave its rich, warm fragrance.
- Pour the Rum: Pour in the rum until all of the ingredients are submerged. Give the jar a good shake to mix everything together.
- Steep: Store in a cool, dark place for 2 to 4 weeks. Shake the jar every few days to help the flavors and scents develop.
- Strain: Once it’s ready, strain the mixture through a fine mesh or cheesecloth into a clean glass bottle.
- Label & Store: Label your bottle with the date and name — Homemade Bay Rum Aftershave. Keep in a cool, dry place.
To Use
After shaving, splash a small amount onto your palms and pat gently onto clean skin. It gives a refreshing, lightly spicy finish that feels both classic and clean.
