Product Spotlight: Why 360 Cookware is Worth the Investment

The quality of your cookware matters just as much as the ingredients you use. If you’re looking for a safer, more sustainable option, 360 Cookware is a brand worth considering. While their products come with a higher price tag, they are also some of the safest and most durable cookware options on the market.

Maybe it’s just my feed or the news that I subscribe to but have you noticed an increase in reports that have highlighted the health risks associated with certain types of cookware? The top headlines are around nonstick pans and how they are coated with polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE). “Nonstick pans coated with PTFEs can release harmful fumes when overheated,” potentially leading to flu-like symptoms known as “polymer fume fever” in humans and posing a significant threat to pet birds? What? How do you have a pan that is overheated and what about my bird!? Aren’t they suppose to be used for cooking? Ever hear of “Forever Chemicals?” Now there are new concerns have been raised about per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), commonly referred to as “forever chemicals,” used in some nonstick coatings. Those black plastic utensils that everyone uses? These substances have been linked to health issues such as cancer and liver damage, prompting regulatory actions like Minnesota’s recent ban on PFAS-containing cookware. Health experts recommend opting for safer alternatives, such as stainless steel, cast iron, or glass cookware, to minimize exposure to these toxic substances. After going down this rabbit hole I immediately tossed out all of my utensils and teflon coated cookware. After a bunch of research I found a company called 360 cookware.

Made in the USA?

360 Cookware is (mostly) made in the USA and is known for its high-quality craftsmanship and innovative design. The 360 Cookware factory is located in West Bend, Wisconsin. Until recently, their cookware was made 100% in the United States. However, they lost their American source of bonded metal (that is, tri-ply), so they were forced to source it from South Korea. They also source their single-ply steel (for lids) and long handles from China. Thus, 360 Cookware is no longer 100% made in the USA. You can read more about it on the 360 Cookware website page Where is 360 Cookware Made? (It’s an interesting read that goes into a lot of detail about materials and manufacturing processes.) Their cookware is crafted from T-304 surgical-grade stainless steel, making it a safer alternative to traditional nonstick cookware, which often contains harmful chemicals like PTFE and PFOA. Not sure how much of that matters to you when you make your decision but since I am trying to be real about this it was worth discussing. However, the most important thing to me is that with 360 Cookware, you can cook with peace of mind, knowing that no toxins are leaching into your food.

Vapor Technology for Healthier Cooking?

One of the most unique features of 360 Cookware is its vapor technology, which allows you to cook food using less water and at lower temperatures. In short, the 360 Cookware lids are designed to form a tight seal so that moisture (i.e., vapor) can’t escape, similar to a pressure cooker. The vacuum-sealed lids create an environment where steam from natural juices continuously circulates, cooking the food without additional water or oil. This process is also known as “waterless cooking.” This method helps retain more nutrients and enhances the natural flavors of your ingredients. If you’re passionate about clean eating and making the most of your homegrown or farm-sourced food, this cookware complements that lifestyle perfectly.

Built to Last a Lifetime

If I use a product a lot, I don’t mind spending the extra money to get what I want and need. We cook every single day and cookware is ultra important to us. Maybe it’s not the same for you? But what I love about 360 is the quality. Unlike lower-quality cookware that needs frequent replacing, 360 Cookware is built to last “for generations.” Their durable construction ensures even heat distribution and long-term performance. Plus, their commitment to sustainability means that their products are designed to reduce waste by eliminating the need for frequent replacements.

360 Cookware is a thick, heavy brand of tri-ply clad stainless steel cookware, and there’s no doubt that it’s excellent quality and has terrific heating properties. Their cookware is about 2.8mm thick (0.11″), with an internal aluminum layer that’s 1.9mm thick, or about 68% aluminum (this info is taken from a reply to an email we sent them that they were gracious enough to answer, which is huge points in their favor).

A Worthwhile Investment

While 360 Cookware is on the higher end price-wise, it’s a long-term investment in both your health and your kitchen. Many users find that the benefits—non-toxic materials, durability, and superior cooking performance—more than justify the cost. If you’re serious about cooking from scratch with the best tools available, 360 Cookware is an excellent addition to your homestead kitchen.
